FAITH OVER FEAR

Image
"You are the author of your own life story, so make it a good one." - I'm not sure who said this, but it was on the wall in my bathroom back home. This quote is kind of the quote of the week. We had a lot of defining moments this week! Our faith was stretched, our desires were tested, and our efforts were rewarded! I am in love with the work and the things my Heavenly Father has shown me. I can feel the love he has for his children here in the south of Texas! Members, missionaries, and friends alike! This week started out with a big event. We were doing our companionship study on Monday, and we got a call from the AP's. They called and said that President Larreal wanted to come work with us the next day! Not gonna lie, most stressful 24 hours of my life. We were busy confirming lessons and making sure we had things to do with him. Flash forward to the next day, he comes with us. HE HAS ME DRIVE US AROUND!! That was pretty stressful. But then we went and talked to a lo...

Well, this week was a crazy one, to say the least! Transfer week is always a banger!! We got new cheese here in mission 4c, I cannot wait to see what this transfer brings. First things first, Elder Stewart got moved. It was a blast while he was here, and I will miss him!! But he is off to Harlingen, which is super awesome, and I think he will love it there! You already know what that means, I got a new companion....his name is Elder Meldrum. Fun fact, he's a greenie, so yeah, I'm training!! It's super fun, and I am so excited to see what miracles are coming this transfer!! Everything else kind of stayed the same; we are still grinding and trying to find the elect!! We found a lot of new people, and they all seem sorta interested! We have a lot of return appointments with them this week!! On Elder Meldrum's first day here, we finished the trainer meeting and headed back to our area. We talked for a while in the car, got groceries and arrived at our apartment. After we dr...

Leadership Letter

Dear Elder Morgan David Lefler, The Lord has confirmed that you should receive an assignment to train a new missionary, and this is comforting evidence that He loves and trusts you. He expects you to set an excellent example of faithful and Christ-like service. Your new companion is already certified and qualified to be a missionary.  Please involve your companion Elder Joshua K Meldrum right away in all aspects of the work, from studying and planning to teaching and working with members. Even though you are the Senior Companion, please treat your companion as your equal partner in the work, in finding, teaching, and baptizing. Help your companion develop faith and exhibit that faith through dedicated hard work filled with the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost should be your companionship's senior companion as you seek to bring our brothers and sisters unto Christ. Focus your work on Preach My Gospel.  Use it every day as you study and prepare. There may be several chapters that your...

This email is going to be short, haha. I am doing well! The transfer ends this week, so I'm excited to see what happens. It has rained a lot lately, and it's been super fun to ride all over the area... in the pouring rain. No one can question our dedication now; we are committed all the way! I wanted to share a little experience with you all. On Saturday, we were biking, and no one wanted to talk to us because of the rain. So, we were looking around trying to find someone to visit. We saw that our member friends Paulita and Casey lived close by. We called them, and they said we could come by. LET ME TELL YOU, it was the best member visit of my life!!! We got there and had hot chocolate, pan dulces, and talked about how THEY WERE JUST SEALED! I got emotional and was feeling the spirit so strong. Everyone who reads this, that is the goal. To be sealed with our families for eternity, don't ever lose sight of the goal!! When you feel like times are hard and you aren't seein...

Sheesh No way my little sister is 18... that can't be true. Allee, you're gonna change the world!! Love you so much. Buenos días, I hope y'all are doing well right now! We are living in the best time in the history of the world. God is hastening His work and raining blessings down upon us! I testify that truly the gospel is what brings us real joy! Without it, I probably would not be happy. AT ALL. So, I'm very grateful I have it! First up, let me set the scene for an experience I had this week. We were cycling to get to a dinner appointment, hot, humid air drenching my clothes, when we decided to take a shortcut through a parking lot. All was fine, the smell of tacos was thick in the air. I saw a man selling flowers, and being a kind soul, I decided to wave! In the instant I took my hand off the handlebar... I hit three bumps and proceeded to go headfirst over my handlebars. My legs didn't get the memo and got stuck with the pedals, which caused the whole bike to f...
