Trials, Testimonies And Almost Turkeys
Well, this week was a crazy one, to say the least! Transfer week is always a banger!! We got new cheese here in mission 4c, I cannot wait to see what this transfer brings.
First things first, Elder Stewart got moved. It was a blast while he was here, and I will miss him!! But he is off to Harlingen, which is super awesome, and I think he will love it there! You already know what that means, I got a new companion....his name is Elder Meldrum. Fun fact, he's a greenie, so yeah, I'm training!! It's super fun, and I am so excited to see what miracles are coming this transfer!!
Everything else kind of stayed the same; we are still grinding and trying to find the elect!! We found a lot of new people, and they all seem sorta interested! We have a lot of return appointments with them this week!!
On Elder Meldrum's first day here, we finished the trainer meeting and headed back to our area. We talked for a while in the car, got groceries and arrived at our apartment. After we dropped off his stuff, we got a call from the AP's...scariest moment of my life not gonna lie ahha! They told us that we were getting a car. I WAS SO HAPPY!! This area is so big, and it was not effective for us to bike super far. So with a car, we can cover so much more area and find the elect. I am so excited haha!! But back to the story, we had to leave the car at the apartment because we didn't have a bike rack...so we headed out on our bikes! Talked to a ton of people, no one wanted to talk to us though. Which was an L, so we got to our friend Alicia's house and she wasn't home. Another L, and as we were going to leave, Elder Meldrum's chain on his bike broke. HUGE L!! As you can see, we took a lot of big, fat Ls this first day. We were discouraged; you might even say that we wanted to "give up." BUT WE DIDN'T!! We got our car and went to some apartments, talked to everyone and ended up setting a baptismal date!! Long story short, Satan will do everything he can to stop us from doing what God wants us to do. Endure to the end, don't give up. God will rain down blessings upon you!
It's officially Christmas time in the valley...trees are everywhere, and people are way too down for Christmas music!! It's pretty fun!!
I've started to see a really big difference in the way I contact or talk to people. I think it's because of how much this gospel means to me. We had the chance to meet our friend Leslie this week. She was on her way out but stopped and gave us a couple of minutes to talk. She asked what our message was, all we did was simply testify. It's amazing to see the power of the spirit on the heart of someone else. She asked us to come by and share that message with her and her family. I could not be happier to share my love for the Savior with the people here.
I was reading at the end of 2 Nephi 4 and absolutely loved it. GO READ IT, and then send me your thoughts!!!
I LOVE THIS GOSPEL. It is so amazing and life-changing, take the time today to learn more about it!! Our Prophet and Apostles have told us we need to center our lives on Christ. I invite you to do that TODAY!! You will not be disappointed!!
Happy Thanksgiving, God is good.
