Well That's All She Wrote Folks

Image
Well everybody, there are not really words to describe what I am feeling right now. It is so crazy to think about all the things that have passed during these two years and how much I have grown. But I wanted to recap a little bit about this past week and all that happened. The week started out super normal. Had a good ZLC on Tuesday and made some awesome plans for the zone. We also went over to the Familia Torres's house and set Juanito on date for this past weekend. They are so awesome, and I am so grateful for the time I have had to get to know them. Wednesday we had interviews! We were there the WHOLE DAY! Literally from 9 in the morning until 9 at night. It was crazy, and we literally just hung out at the church. We did have a couple of friends come to the church for some tours. It was fun to show them around, talk about the temple, and show them the outside. One of the friends that came to the church tours was Mirna. She is so funny; it's the only word to describe her. Sh...

It's Getting Too Real

Yooooo, this one is gonna be quick! Here's a little update: Wednesday morning my phone didn't turn on... we're finishing the mission without a phone. Low-key, a huge blessing to just focus on the mission. My DAWG, Elder Winward, sent us the coolest referrals this week: a whole family from Venezuela that really wants to be baptized! They are gonna be baptized this weekend!! Prayers up for them! Umm, I dunked a dodgeball today. Soooo, that's pretty much all that went down this week. During Sunday school, we were talking about Korihor and his story. The very end of the story stood out to me. After Korihor had been struck dumb, he goes out and begs all the people for food. After a while, he is trampled and killed. A pretty gruesome ending, but then it says this: "And thus we see the end of him who perverteth the ways of the Lord; and thus we see that the devil will not support his children at the last day, but doth speedily drag them down to hell." Satan won't...

The Best Of Times In McBallaz Zone

This week was super awesome. A lot of good stuff is happening in McAllen, Texas, right now. As a zone, we broke our watermark. God is truly blessing us more than we can possibly describe! We started the week off pretty normally, with some rain, and we found a lot of cool people! On Wednesday, we had zone conference, which was really good. We heard a lot from our mission president about priesthood keys and our roles as missionaries. It's always a good refresher and something to think about. Hermana Larreal talked to us about baptism and how important it is. The whole meeting was super spiritual, and I really learned a lot during it. Too bad it was my last one. I gave my departing testimony as well. It was really cool; I gave mine after Elder Nielsen, who was my MTC companion, and right before Elder LaPray, who I grew up with. I love them both, and they have taught me so much! I probably saw a lot of homies for the last time that day. Earlier in the week, we got a cool referral from ...

La Luz De La Verdad

Dang, another week gone... I don't know how to feel about that. It seems like everything is on fast forward! This week has been super good. We have seen some success and are super excited for what is coming next. I wanted to share a couple of miracles from this week that have really stood out to me! First has to do with the family of our friend Maria who just got baptized. It has been so cool to see the gospel start to bless their lives so much! Whenever we go over to their house, everybody seems so happy! There is a peaceful feeling and it just feels like home. The Spirit truly works wonders in all shapes and sizes! Her parents are now putting in so much effort to be married and baptized! We are hoping it can all work out for them to be baptized this next weekend! Prayers up for Martha and Juan. Second is about the family I was talking about in my last email. A little more information about them: the dad (Juan Carlos) is from Guatemala! He's such a great guy, probably one of t...

I Missed A Pretty Big Week

Yoooo buenos días everybody! How is it going? I hope you have all had a fantastic couple of weeks free from my emails, but here I am! I am going to just run through a couple of highlights from the past couple of weeks and then share some experiences with you all. Started my last transfer as a missionary. Started my plan. Got a new companion, Elder Newton. Fun fact about Elder Newton: his grandpa and my grandpa Lefler were missionary companions in England. We ran it back, trying to see if we could be like our grandpas. Love you, Grandpa! Our friend Maria got baptized. I bought some cowboy boots, pretty hype. My companion and I got pulled over. This is why you always stop at the stop signs. I played the piano during church, which was super fun! I love this ward so much. They are all so kind, and I truly feel at home here. Plus, they make really good food. Our friend Rafael came to church! He's part of a part-member family who are a little bit inactive. But he came, and his mom came w...
