La Luz De La Verdad

Dang, another week gone... I don't know how to feel about that. It seems like everything is on fast forward!

This week has been super good. We have seen some success and are super excited for what is coming next.

I wanted to share a couple of miracles from this week that have really stood out to me!

First has to do with the family of our friend Maria who just got baptized. It has been so cool to see the gospel start to bless their lives so much! Whenever we go over to their house, everybody seems so happy! There is a peaceful feeling and it just feels like home. The Spirit truly works wonders in all shapes and sizes! Her parents are now putting in so much effort to be married and baptized! We are hoping it can all work out for them to be baptized this next weekend! Prayers up for Martha and Juan.

Second is about the family I was talking about in my last email. A little more information about them: the dad (Juan Carlos) is from Guatemala! He's such a great guy, probably one of the meekest but most confident people I know. The mom is a U.S. citizen, but they were living in Mexico, so to get married wouldn't really work because neither of them was from there. So they never could get baptized! So they made the decision to move here! Even though they are going through the worst of it right now, they are pressing forward. This week on Tuesday, she dropped the bomb that she is going to have her baby in the coming week... craziest news drop of my life, not gonna lie. But because we are seasoned missionaries, we kept it cool and calmly said, "Well, I guess the baptism will happen this week." They said yes! Let's get it! I've never been more hyped in my entire life. So we got them married and baptized.

Also, our friend Rafael got baptized. He's such a chill dude. He's an 11-year-old kid in a part-member family. He plays Call of Duty and likes mangoes. Probably the easiest kid to get along with.

We had a lit MLC this week. It was the last one, but it was good. I admire the other leaders in this mission. They are amazing examples to me in all aspects. I am so grateful for the people I have gotten to know. I will miss the spirit of singing the hymn "La Luz de la Verdad" with all the homies.

Crazy story about our baptism super quick! So, tropical storm Beryl... don't get me started on this, bro. Anyways, we were told not to leave our apartments after 3 on Sunday, with our baptism being at 4. So we thought we wouldn't be able to attend, but President gave the okay 20 minutes before game time that we could leave the apartment. Even though it was crazy, the important thing is that they got baptized.

During our baptism, I had a cool realization. We were going around looking for people to do confirmations. I don't know why it made such a difference to me this time, but I truly do know that the power of God is on the earth again today. That it was restored through a living prophet. I know this is true because I've seen it change so many lives! This week was an amazing example of that.

Here's a scripture I liked:

Alma 19:13

"For as sure as thou livest, behold, I have seen my Redeemer; and he shall come forth, and be born of a woman, and he shall redeem all mankind who believe on his name. Now, when he had said these words, his heart was swollen within him, and he sunk again with joy; and the queen also sunk down, being overpowered by the Spirit."

I personally feel the Spirit the strongest when I testify of Jesus Christ! He lives. I know He does!
