FAITH OVER FEAR
"You are the author of your own life story, so make it a good one." - I'm not sure who said this, but it was on the wall in my bathroom back home.
This quote is kind of the quote of the week. We had a lot of defining moments this week! Our faith was stretched, our desires were tested, and our efforts were rewarded! I am in love with the work and the things my Heavenly Father has shown me. I can feel the love he has for his children here in the south of Texas! Members, missionaries, and friends alike!
This week started out with a big event. We were doing our companionship study on Monday, and we got a call from the AP's. They called and said that President Larreal wanted to come work with us the next day! Not gonna lie, most stressful 24 hours of my life. We were busy confirming lessons and making sure we had things to do with him. Flash forward to the next day, he comes with us. HE HAS ME DRIVE US AROUND!! That was pretty stressful. But then we went and talked to a lot of people. It was amazing to see someone with his skill and experience talk to the people. I testify that he has been called of God. He really emphasized the importance of making sure the people we talk to feel the spirit. It was cool, and I am so excited to keep applying the things I learned!
Thursday!! TURKEY DAY! It was hype, I liked it a lot haha! We ate a lot of food and talked to some awesome families. Our last visit of the night, we were sitting around a fire and we sang hymns with them. It was amazing to feel the wonderful spirit that was there. I can testify that the hymns bring the spirit. Even if the singing wasn't great. I love songs and music. Go listen to hymn 88 in Spanish. If you know, you know.
Friday I was on an exchange with the Zone Leaders' greenie, Elder Thom from AZ. He is supa cool, and we got along great. The ZL's had to do a different exchange on Friday, so he stayed with me, and Elder Meldrum came back. So on Friday, I had 2 greenies... the energy was insane! They are going to be amazing missionaries. I can't wait to see what God has planned for them. We spent the whole day boldly inviting people to change their lives. Once we understand how much this gospel has impacted us, WE SHOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM SHARING IT. At least that is how I see it. It has been so crazy; I can literally see how much God is taking care of us. He is always pointing and guiding us in the right way.
Sunday was awesome; we did our weekly planning! It was super good; we prayed mightily and realized that not a lot of people are progressing. You know what that means. Faith drop and grind time! It's been amazing, and we have already found cool people since then. I love the work.
I just want to share a little scripture with you. Isaiah 41:10
10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
He is with us; I testify of that. I challenge you to take a couple of minutes right now, look at your life, and see what God has done to help you. He is in your life, in the details.
