Tostadas Are The Best

Good morning everyone! I hope you all had an amazing week! I know I did. We saw a lot of miracles but also faced some challenges. The good thing is, God is on our side, so all is well.

We started the week off well. We were teaching a lot of people, and many of our friends were progressing towards baptism, especially our friends Alex and Felipe. Felipe is Alex's uncle, and a few people in their family are members. It was amazing to spend time in their home, talk about the gospel, and feel the Spirit. However, we got a call from them on Wednesday... They told us they were leaving for Iowa for work. It was a pretty sad phone call. We went over to their house to say goodbye and shared Alma 17:2 with them. If you don't know it, I invite you to read it. It's a powerful verse that explains what we all want. They will be meeting with missionaries in Iowa. I'm grateful for the chance I had to be a part of their teaching.

On the bright side, we had a lot of opportunities to teach this past week! Many of our friends decided to start moving forward. We had cool lessons at home, some nice church tours, and even some phone call lessons. On Friday night, we had the opportunity to visit our friends Mariana and Maria. They live far up north in our area, kind of in the middle of nowhere. But when we started talking about the restoration, everything became more mellow. I had the chance to share the First Vision, and it was completely silent. The spirit was so strong, and you could tell these people were touched by it. As you testify of the restoration, you will always be supported by the Holy Ghost. The restoration is what makes this church different from all the others. President Nelson's talk from this last conference is constantly on my mind. I have learned that no matter the situation or the quality of your life, the spirit can help you make it what you want it to be.

We had Zone Conference this week, which was super awesome! I got to see a lot of my old friends from around the mission. It's crazy that a lot of us go home soon! I was asked to conduct the meeting, which was fun. I got to sit by Presidente Larreal and talk to him for a lot of the time. He's an amazing leader, and I have learned so much from him. The devotional part of zone conference focused so much on our habits. Presidente focused on how the little things we do every day are what make us who we are. It's so true. He emphasized the importance of integrating the gospel with everything we do. It's the best way to have good habits and improve your life.

A couple of other things:

Tostadas are my favorite food (I ate so many at a dinner appointment). I'm coming for you, Elder Kartchner.
Enos is my favorite book in the Book of Mormon.
General Conference has been an amazing personal study lately.
I wanted to share a couple of feelings I've had lately. The end of my mission is rapidly approaching, which is something I don't love talking about. But recently, I've had an overwhelming feeling of love and appreciation for my father in heaven. He has allowed me to be a part of his great work, and I have seen so many miracles and blessings while being here. Truly, when we allow God to prevail in our lives, he works miracles! Always remember that with him, it will always be easier.

I love you all, and I would love to hear from you!

Love, Elder Lefler
