Alma 26:36

Good morning everybody! I hope you all have had a great week! My week was really good, and we saw a lot of miracles throughout the work. I can't believe another week has come and gone!

Our week started off super well with a little exchange. My companion, Elder Phillips, came with us for the day, and we had a lot of fun. It was refreshing to see another point of view and a new way to do the work. I learned a lot, and I am super grateful for his example to me.

Wednesday, we had a super good Zone meeting about helping our friends overcome their doubts and filling their needs. It was really good to work on our skills of finding needs and teaching to them. One thing I noticed for the 1,000th time it seems is that truly the gospel can help anyone resolve doubts or fill needs in their life. This gospel is so true.

Our friend Lili got baptized this past week! She's the absolute goat. I am so grateful I was able to be a part of this for her. We had a lot of fun teaching her and helping her feel ready for this. It was amazing, and I just wanted to share a quick little experience with you all. We met Lili just outside as she was getting ready to leave. We felt impressed to talk about baptism and the peace that it can bring. She was hooked; from day one, she knew what her goal was, which was to have true peace in her life even though she's going through so much. The next time we saw her, she told us she needed this, that being baptized was at the top of her list of things to do. I have learned so much from her and this opportunity to be her friend.

Church was super awesome! It was a great service, and the second hour was good. We helped the clerks with some of the new member records, during which we found out some of them don't think the moon landing was real... To each their own, haha.

I also had the opportunity to go on an exchange in my old area! It was so fun, and we saw a lot of cool miracles happen. I had the opportunity to talk to a couple of people who were baptized when I was there. It was amazing to see that they are still trying their hardest.

My studies have been crazy lately! In between studying the Book of Mormon, other standard works, Preach My Gospel, general conference, and so much more, I have been repeatedly brought back to the same message. It's described very well in this quote from the last general conference. It's from the talk "Pillars and Rays" by Elder Dushku.

"President Joseph F. Smith likewise recalled, 'The Lord withheld marvels from me [when I was young], and showed me the truth, line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little.'

That is the Lord’s typical pattern, brothers and sisters. Rather than sending us a pillar of light, the Lord sends us a ray of light, and then another, and another."

I have a problem of wanting to know everything and be good at everything right away. But this principle of learning things line upon line has struck me with more importance this week. I know that as I always keep our Savior in mind, the idea of learning things slowly but surely seems a lot easier. At least for me. I know that Jesus Christ lives! He truly is our advocate with the Father, and that through Him, we all get to live with our families together! I love this gospel, and I know it's true.

Love you all!

Elder Lefler
