Highs And Lows

Everyone, I love my mission. I love the Lord, and I am so grateful for the amazing blessings I have received! This week was full of highs and lows, full of miracles and a lot of time praying. As well, I probably drank more soda this week than ever before.

We met as well our friend Fausto. He's from Veracruz and has the coolest Spanish ever. It's super fast, and his voice is very high-pitched. We met him, and he told us he had a Book of Mormon, so we talked about that, and he came to church yesterday. He really wants to know everything, but we talked about desires and faith, and he accepted a baptismal date for the 23rd! It was so cool to see him understand everything and want to grow!

Our other cool friend is Lucia! She's like 70+ years old. She's met with missionaries before, knows all the Relief Society sisters, and knows who Joseph Smith is! We went over, and she finally decided this is her time to be baptized! So we set a date with her, and she is going to work so hard for it! Her biggest doubt was if the water was going to be hot or cold, haha!

The low from this week: Mikey told us he doesn't want to be baptized anymore. He had a lot of doubts that didn't make sense. We spent so long talking to him; he's 19, so he can make the decision. But towards the end of the talk, his mom came in, basically told us all of her doubts, and said she doesn't think Mikey is ready. So we immediately found out where all of his doubts were coming from. His mom went off, and it was really sad to see. Then yesterday, he texted us and said he's not coming to church anymore, but we will let the Lord work with him and go back in a while.

We were invited to eat with some investigators last night. We pulled up to their house, and they were just super cooking out. It was so hype; we talked for a while, and then we decided to eat. There were 6 elders at the table. We were given 26 burgers to eat, and we couldn't leave until they were gone. Ur boy did what he had to do, munched on them all.

I love the Book of Mormon; its purpose and meaning have changed my life so much lately. I know it testifies of Jesus Christ. Through the power of God, Joseph Smith was able to translate it. I know it with all my heart! I want you all to send me your favorite verse and why!

I LOVE YOU ALL! Have a great week!
