I Am Living After The Manner Of Happiness

Another week has come and gone here in Laredo. Truly, God has blessed this land and prepared it for this time in the history of the world. The peace that comes from the restored gospel of Jesus Christ is something everyone needs. It is our job as members of His church to share it! I invite you all to pray for an opportunity to share the gospel. Let me know how it goes.

My week truly was phenomenal. We found a lot of new people, we had friends come to church, friends are preparing for baptism, and my testimony of the convincing power of the Holy Ghost is only improving. I love this work; it truly changes lives!

I had the opportunity to go on 2 exchanges this week: one with my friend Elder Glenn who was in the MTC with me, and another with my DAWG Elder Crowther who went to American Fork. We saw so many miracles; it was absolutely crazy! During my exchange with Elder Crowther, we were on the bikes and talked to absolutely everyone in sight. When God sees us putting forth our best effort, He blesses us with miracles. It was evident in the lessons we taught and the people we met! God was truly with us and is in this church. We taught our friend Johnny; he sadly didn't keep his commitment. But I think he didn't because he knew I needed to do it with him. We decided to watch this video of Joseph Smith with him; my testimony of the Restoration and divine calling of Joseph Smith has been strengthened once again. I felt the Spirit so strong; pure peace and joy came from the knowledge of the restored church and God's love for us. Elder Crowther crashed his bike twice, and I got scratched by a cat. I love Laredo.

We met our homie Miley this week. He's 19 years old and has the greatest desire to learn and become a disciple of Jesus Christ. I love helping him along this journey and seeing his growth. That's what it is all about: people's growth and desire to change. Truly, all we do as missionaries is act as guides to help them! I love this work so much!

We invited a lady to our church this week. She told us she would go if we went with her. We went; apostasy is real; needless to say, she didn't pull up. But we met a lot of amazing followers of Jesus Christ. They will progress in the future; I truly have come to love the people here so much!

I know the Book of Mormon is true. God gave it to us as a tool. Pray and ask if it's true; I beg you! It will change everything. If you already know, then read and share it with others! Here's my insight from the week: 2 Nephi 9:25-26

"25 Wherefore, he has given a law; and where there is no law given there is no punishment; and where there is no punishment there is no condemnation; and where there is no condemnation the mercies of the Holy One of Israel have claim upon them, because of the atonement; for they are delivered by the power of him.

26 For the atonement satisfieth the demands of his justice upon all those who have not the law given to them, that they are delivered from that awful monster, death and hell, and the devil, and the lake of fire and brimstone, which is endless torment; and they are restored to that God who gave them breath, which is the Holy One of Israel."

I have thought for a while about everybody who hasn't heard of the gospel or who lived in a time where it was not available. There is peace and hope through the atonement of Jesus Christ. He is there, arms outstretched, waiting for us. I love him, and I know he loves each of you!

Have an amazing week! Keep the faith; the future is bright with our Savior by our side.

Elder Lefler
