Aye Wait Put Your Glasses On
Shoutout to my mom; she had her birthday this past Saturday! I love you, Mom. I made a post on Facebook for her birthday, and I started it with a song she always used to sing to me and my siblings. She is, for real, the best mom out there. Thank you, Mom, for always showing me the right way to live and act! I love you so much!
This week was a grind of massive proportions. We worked really hard and saw quite a few miracles from it! We met a lot of really cool people and had a lot of fun doing it. I wanted to share a couple of the people we met!
First up is our guy Melvin! Melvin is so lit; he is a powerlifter and a dancer. So this dude is always busy, like unbelievably busy. But it's been super cool to meet and talk to him. He thinks super deeply about gospel things and has a desire to be baptized! We gave him a faith calendar to help him prepare for his baptism, and he was so hyped. He even said he was gonna bring all his friends! It's gonna be so hype to watch him grow!
Second, we met a dude named Wilmur. He cuts grass for a living, which sounds absolutely baller! We stopped his truck and got to talking, and he told us he wanted to read the Book of Mormon. So... we gave him one, and to thank us, he gave me his glasses. It was super hype, and I wore them the rest of the day! We are supposed to go talk to him this week, and I am absolutely stoked.
Third was our friend Ashley. Ashley is super lit and has been taught by missionaries in the past, a long time ago. We felt inspired to knock her door, and you could tell that she needed us to be there. It was really refreshing to talk to someone who wanted us to be there. She asked a lot of questions, and she showed genuine interest in learning more about her Savior. It was amazing to bear testimony of the truthfulness of our message and challenge her to learn more and become more like Him. I am hopeful that she will choose to learn more and grow.
Those are some of the people who we met this week. I have truly enjoyed working in the Lord's vineyard this week. It is some of the hardest work I have ever done. But nothing of value comes easily. I know that our Father in Heaven and Savior are working with us.
I was reading in 3 Nephi this past week, and I found a scripture that really stood out to me.
3 Nephi 11:13-14
13 And it came to pass that the Lord spake unto them saying:
14 Arise and come forth unto me, that ye may thrust your hands into my side, and also that ye may feel the prints of the nails in my hands and in my feet, that ye may know that I am the God of Israel, and the God of the whole earth, and have been slain for the sins of the world.
Jesus Christ suffered for each of us. Individually, as in one by one. He knows your pains and your sorrow perfectly. In this scripture, he is inviting us, individually, one by one, to come unto him and see for ourselves. He knows you, he loves you, and all he wants is the best for you. Please do all you can to grow closer to him. It won't be easy, but it will be worth it.
He is our Savior; I love him, and I know he loves each and every one of us. There is no greater peace or joy in this life than to be close to your Savior. I testify this is his work, his gospel, and his church. It has changed the very person I am! I invite you all to pray tonight; you will feel his love.
I love you all and would really love to hear from you! I am bad at answering emails, but I will read them and try to answer back. Have a great week!
