2 Nephi 4:34
Hey everyone! It has been a couple of weeks since I have written, and for that, I truly do apologize! I have been busy out here doing the work of the Lord! I am still in Mission 4th, and I absolutely love this ward so much. There is no place I would rather be than here. I truly have come to love the people in this area and ward so much!
I don't want this to be super long, so I was going to just hit some key points of things I have experienced, as well as share a few things I have learned.
I feel as though I have truly come to know my Savior Jesus Christ so much lately. I have been blessed with the opportunity to struggle, learn, and grow so much in this area. I have truly seen the ENABLING power of the Atonement. It gives me strength to do this work. I know it can do the same with you all as well! This gospel is life-changing; in the context of the grand scheme of things, I cannot imagine my life without it. We had a cool experience with our friend Genaro, which testifies to me that this gospel is a joyful thing! We were walking down a street, and my companion felt the need to knock on this door. We knocked on said door, and our buddy Genaro came out; he's a beast. We got talking and started testifying of the gospel and Atonement. You could just see in this guy's eyes the pure joy that he was feeling. I know that this message brings joy because it's done it for me.
I went on an exchange this past week with my good friend Elder Taylor. He's from Highland, Utah, and went to Lone Peak. He's a good guy, and we had a ton of fun on the exchange. We had the opportunity to meet our friends Brittney and Christian during the day! It was such a cool experience. It started with us just pulling up to this random street. Neither of us really knew why we were there, but we got out and started talking to people. No one really wanted to talk to us. We were heading back to the car when Christian and Brittney pulled up. They got out of the car, and we started chatting with them. Turns out they've been waiting for missionaries to come by! We went inside with them, said a prayer, gave them a Book of Mormon to read, and set them on a baptismal date. I noticed the whole time we were talking how happy they were. You could tell they were feeling the spirit. We are passing by today, prayers up for Christian and Brittney!
There are countless other experiences in which I have seen the spirit go to work on someone! I think the most important thing we can do is allow someone to feel this spirit and act on it. Truly, there is no better gift we can give someone than to help them feel the spirit and start this path!
I learned after many weeks and months out here that Taco Bell truly will be the death of me.
I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that it was translated by the power of God. I feel like I am constantly being reminded of the importance of this book. #itchangedmylife
Hung out with my MTC comp yesterday on a split. Elder Neilson is my dawg. Absolute goat.
Old guy in the ward, Hno Torres, calls me Elder Sonrisa.
I don't really have a spiritual thought, but I can share my testimony. The church is true. The Atonement has changed my life. It can change yours as well, if it hasn't already. God loves us, so he sent his son. He loves us so he calls prophets and asks them to guide and direct us. I know the Book of Mormon is true. You will draw nearer unto God through this book than by any other book.
I love you all, I would love to hear from you! Send me an email or something!
Con love,
Elder Lefler
