Leadership Letter

Dear Elder Morgan David Lefler,

I congratulate you on being asked to serve as a District Leader Trainer in the great Texas McAllen Mission – Montecristo Zone.  Leadership is best accomplished by your own positive example.  As a District Leader, doing the following is essential:

-Supervise, train, and inspire the missionaries in district meetings and by doing companionship exchanges to proselyte with missionaries in your district for short periods of time.        

-Carry a full proselyting load in your assigned area, and set an example for other missionaries.

-Ensure the safety and welfare of Sister Missionaries in your district.

-Make sure relationships between Elders and Sisters are always appropriate and in harmony with mission policy.   

-Interview candidates for baptism.

-See that all necessary reports are accurate and completed on time.

-Hold well-planned, spiritual, and inspirational district meetings.

Remember that your most important calling is to be worthy, work hard, and proselyte effectively in your own area.  The successes you enjoy will be the best example you can take with you when you work in companionship exchanges with members of your district.  Your enthusiasm will be contagious.

As a District Leader, the Lord has asked you to serve the members of your district. These opportunities to serve are to help us become better. Study the section in the Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ and the scriptures about Christlike leadership.  Be humble and always sustain others in their assignments to be sustained and supported. The Lord will bless you in your efforts as you careful and prayerfully consider how to help your district and serve its members.

I have great trust and confidence in you.  Be faithful and true to the trust that is placed in you.  You have all the necessary qualities to ensure your success as a District Leader.
