The Dogs Will Not Win

Another week completed in the Lord's vineyard! God is showing us miracles in abundance every single day. He truly loves all of us so much. How was everyone's week? Did you do something amazing? Learn something cool at school? If you did, let me know—I want to hear about it! If not... well, you've got a whole week this week to do something life-changing! Every moment matters.

This week was so awesome; it started off pretty normal, and we were finding so many cool people! On Tuesday, it rained quite a bit, which is such a blessing. It was super fun to ride around in the rain on our bikes. It confused a lot of people, and not a ton of people were outside, but nonetheless, we found some people. Youth Night was super awesome, and we had a couple of friends come and vibe with us, which was a huge blessing because the branch members loved it. Thursday was a grind; we were just biking from lesson to lesson, which was so good. Having lessons makes the days a lot more productive and exciting.

Friday was special; we had the opportunity to take some friends to the McAllen Temple open house! It was seriously so special to be there with them and to feel the spirit that is inside that special building. I testify that it truly is God's house on this earth.

We have been having a lot of interesting experiences with dogs lately... there are these two dogs that seem to be my greatest challenge here. They live right across the street from a part-member family we love, so we have to see them a lot. This week we were at their house, and we were leaving when we saw these two goobers standing there waiting for us. Rodabough takes off, and neither dog chases him... RIP Elder Lefler. So I go to start riding, and they attacked my back tire... unfortunately for them, they didn't know I had just tightened my brakes. I braked, the tire came up and hit the dog in the face—BOOM! No dog can beat Elder Lefler (except my back tire is now flat... I don't know if that's from them or not). Dogs 0, Elder Lefler 1.

So I've been reading a lot in Helaman this week, and for my spiritual thought, I wanted to share a verse!

Helaman 10:4
"Blessed art thou, Nephi, for those things which thou hast done; for I have beheld how thou hast with unwearyingness declared the word, which I have given unto thee, unto this people. And thou hast not feared them, and hast not sought thine own life, but hast sought my will, and to keep my commandments."

Nephi was blessed because he simply was all in! He knew what God needed him to do, he knew the importance of the calling he was asked to fulfill. As members of the church, we are given callings or ways to serve. I challenge you to give it your all! No matter how big or small the job is, when you give it your all, God WILL bless you! In the next verse, it gives a lot of blessings that the Lord gave Nephi. God has blessings in store for you!

Love you all! God is good, and this is His church. Pray always.

Elder Lefler
