I Think I've Adopted The Jamaican Culture

Here I am, this is me, there's no where else on earth I'd rather be. -aust you better know what this is from.

But like for real, Zapata is growing for the better! I am so grateful for God allowing me to be a part of it!! Here are a couple of key points from this week.

Clerk work is probably the most tedious thing I've done. Shoutout to the clerks out there! Y'all are real ones.

Youth night activities are electric.

The Book of Mormon is still the truest book on the earth.

Don't update PMG and ride your bike, old Hispanic men will make fun of you.

I haven't met a single person who didn't smile back when I gave them a Jesus card.

These are just a few of the important lessons I have learned this past week. It was an awesome week! We found so many new cool people to teach!! We even had some come to church with us this week!!

Super epic story about our friend Patty. We met her in a parking lot outside a karate studio with her daughter and friends. We talked and invited her to church! She said maybe, but wouldn't give us her phone number or address so my hopes were pretty low. But before we left, I made her pinky promise to try her hardest to come, and we left! That was on Tuesday, remember that. We go through the rest of the week, finding lots of people, inviting everyone to come unto Christ, playing with animals, and overall just having a great week. Saturday night rolls around and we are hyped for church. The thought of Patty coming to church is probably the furthest thing from my mind at this point. Sunday morning, I'm playing the prelude for the meeting, AND LO AND BEHOLD, PATTY STROLLS ON IN!!! I went up to her and she said and I quote, "Boom, I kept my promise" ... bruh I was shook, it was so epic!! God is a god of miracles, even if you don't remember your promises, he does.

Sunday night, we were biking home and we had 5 min left in the workday. I had the impression to stop by our friend Joseph's house. He is a very inactive member and I hadn't seen him in a very long time. So we go and knock, 1st knock nothing, same with the 2nd, on the third knock he opens the door!! LESS GOOOO! That alone would've made my whole week! We shared an awesome video with him, and my companion was bearing his testimony when the thought came that I needed to give him my WWJD bracelet. Kinda wack but aight, so once my companion was finished, I told him I wanted to give him my bracelet. I have never seen such pure joy in someone's eyes! I teared up and felt God's love for his son so strong!

Also, we met with our boy Almicar Jr this week, he was super hype! He's a member who, since his baptism, has gone inactive. Which kinda stinks but he likes us so that's hype!! We had a little contact and he committed to church!! It was super spiritual and we shared a lot about the Book of Mormon. I think he liked it, except I think there was one part where I zoned out because all of a sudden he said "I think I've adopted the Jamaican culture" ... idk. But he came to church so LET'S GOOO.

Me and Elder Rodabough are getting along soo well! He reminds me of myself, which is kinda wack. As well he loves to learn and grow, which is soooo hype!! Shoutout my boy Elder Rody.

My cousin Liv hit her 6-month mark. Pretty awesome!

Spiritual thought:

11 For it must needs be, that there is an opposition in all things. If not so, my firstborn in the wilderness, righteousness could not be brought to pass, neither wickedness, neither holiness nor misery, neither good nor bad. Wherefore, all things must needs be a compound in one; wherefore, if it should be one body it must needs remain as dead, having no life neither death, nor corruption nor incorruption, happiness nor misery, neither sense nor insensibility.

Those difficulties you are struggling with are there for a reason. Put your faith in the one who knows all things! I testify that God loves you, this life is our chance to prepare to meet him again!! I love you all so much!

I have been studying charity lately. If you have scriptures, talks, or passages that I should read, send them my way!

Read Luke 14.
